Payments

Payment in stores or restaurants in Sweden are normally done with credit or debit card. Many stores do not accept cash.

Language

In Sweden, English is generally spoken by anyone.

Driving by car

In Sweden we drive on the right side of the road. If you are hiring a car we recommend that you are fully insured. The limit for driving under the influence of alcohol is 0,2 promille alcohol in your blood.

Smoking

By Swedish law you are not allowed to smoke anywhere inside any building, or closer than 8 meters to any building entrance. This also applies to electrical cigarettes. Since January 1, 2023, it is also illegal to throw a cigarette butt on the ground.
